Level 2 & 3 Pathway

Full Details

Quick Summary

Pick this Sport pathway if you want to develop your own practical performance in your chosen sports while also applying theoretical knowledge about different types of sport and physical activity, skills development and sports leadership.
Links with professional partners will include very exciting links that we’re establishing with Lancaster University as well as other local and National partners to ensure students have opportunities to gain experience working in various sports industries such as leisure centres, gyms and physios.
Sport is available as a Level 2 pathway, which students complete in Years 10 and 11, plus a Level 3 pathway, which is undertaken in Sixth Form.  So there is a clear progression, right from when students pick their options in Year 9 for anyone keen on sport.
Local links on the Sport pathway include our very unique partnerships with primary schools and community groups where students can develop their skills as leaders, coaches and officials.
Plus points for the Sport pathway include a style of learning where we will blend high quality lessons with practical based learning allowing learners to get hands on with their potential career pathways and gain insight into the sports sector.
In terms of future directions, the Level 2 pathway can lead to many routes at Sixth Form, while students can then progress to options such as higher education, apprenticeships and/or employment in the sport industry.
