Pick the Performing Arts – Music pathway if you want to develop your technical and performance skills while also exploring different jobs and organisations in the music industry.
In terms of links with professional partners, specific people who work in the industry (recording studios, music retail, professional recording artists etc) will be involved in special sessions, helping students learn about “real life” music professions.
Performing Arts – Music is a Level 2 pathway that students start in Year 10 and complete in Year 11. The Level 3 Pathway starts in Year 12.
Students on this pathway will get direct experience of events in the local music scene by staging their own live events such as Band Night in school that students organise, run and perform.
Plus points for Performing Arts – Music include studying areas such as composition, performance, recording and sequencing as well as live sound, where you will plan for a live music event.
In terms of future directions, this Level 2 pathway leads into a Pearson BTEC Level 3 Nationals in Music and Music Technology, which would start in Year 12.
